Fosie scoutcorps story

The first years

The idea for Fosie scout came in 1934 by a score of boys 13-14 years of age who were in Fosie Assembly Sunday school where they used to play football. Priests Sune Larsson and Axel Tengstam was often playing with them.
The boys wanted something more to deal with than just football, so the proposal was presented to Scouting and the interested priests prompted them to make contact with Åke Åkesson, who worked with Scouting in Malmo YMCA.

Wednesday, April 4, 1934 met Åke Åkesson and boys for the first time. This is the date that counts as our scoutkårs date of birth. Åke told of scouting and a few of the boys were selected to go patrulledarkurs. The patrols, totaling approximately 20 members, were named Swallow, with Kjell Roslund as patrol leader, lark, with Stig Moltzer as patrol leader, and the Cuckoo, with Arne Henning as patrol leader.

1935 they joined the Student Union to the YMCA's Scout Association. That same year, Kjell, Stig and Arne got to visit at the Malmö Pentecostal Corps camp at Övedskloster as guests. In 1937 had Fosie scout two departments, Pathfinders and Fast Feets. Then came even wolf pups to the corps. Fosie Scout camp was the first large district camp at Stocka Mölla as Crown Prince Gustav Adolf and Princess Sibylla was a guest. 1938 was the Tullgarn camp, where the 6000 Scouts from 60 nations gathered. 40 of the scouts came from Fosie and camp boss was Crown Prince Gustav Adolf. Patrons of the camp was King Gustav V.

The war years

1939 celebrated its fifth anniversary with corps revue over the past years. That same year the Second World War broke out and the older leaders were called in to military duty and the patrulleaders got to hold the scout meetings. Scout hall became a military barracks.
In 1940 a new parish house was completed at Trelleborg route. Corps moved there some time later and here we are today.
1941 was the national camp in Olofsborg with 21 participants from the Corps.
1945 was the national camp in Ångermanland.
During the 40 - and 50's, corps common Pentecostal camp with scout groups from Husie and Limhamn.
During WWII we called, along with other Malmo-corps, us "Alliance" for the Allies. 1951 participated Fosie scout camp on the Öresundscamp, where Åke Åkesson was assigned to lead the construction of the camp portal.
1952 Åke Åkesson resigned as Corps Commander and was appointed honorary chairman. Kjell Roslund became the new Corps Commander.
When the corps in 1954 celebrated its 20th anniversary, it was great ledarbrist. The number of members was the 107th This year it was kårläger in Lerjesjön.

The girls enter the scene

As of September 1955 the first girlscouts were launched and was great attendance by girls of all ages. Boys and girls had cooperation when it came to camps and competitions.

Scout hut

1955 purchased the Scout hut in Dörröd. The house is from the mid-1800s, the cottage includes approximately eight acres of meadow and woodland.

The cottage consists of two buildings, one with kitchen and dining room and one with dorms and basement dining room. The house also holds a woodshed and a toilet building. Foundation Fosie scoutkårs outdoor facility takes care of the cottage.

60s

1960, 142 corps members, 77 girls, 56 boys and 9 leaders.
1966 is the RS department at Mountain Tours. The following year was the district in the state of Tiveden and 1968 held the federal camp in Hall Mare.

70s

In 1970, the district camp at Almö.
1972 becomes Mats Holgersson new president of the union.
1973 was the federal camp in Duse Cape with 45 participants from the Corps. That same year, takes over Fosie scout Student Union South (Ore Banded scout) activities, members and assets.
1974 was the 40th anniversary, meeting with "old scouts." That same year, organized corps RS-4-martial. 1975 Corps had 248 members and 1976 is Paul Holgersson, Chairman of the corps.
1977 was the Pentecostal camp in Sjöbo.
1978 was organized nationwide RS-5-fight in Dörröd with 45 teams entered. This year also bought kårtröjorna.

80s

1980 was the district camp "Gulf".
Anders Persson became the new chairman in 1981 and 1982, Leif Larsson next President.
1982 moved the union activities at the St. Thomas-yard to the Knights of the Corps old premises at Koral Street on Lindängen.
1981 was the Expedition Hardangervidda in Norway for the patrol scouts, RS and leaders.
In 1983, the Federal camp Hårga.
1984 Corps celebrated 50 years of anniversary camp in Ottarp as a prolonged Pentecostal camp with the anniversary market, commemorative works of art, writing, and two jubilee anniversary celebrations. The same year, Monica Wahlborg chairman of the corps.
1986 renovation of the church and the corps will have its own entrance. The current repository is also in use. This year, corps members 171.
Lindborg's scout abandoned the service in 1987 and Fosie scout then took over their leaders and materials. For new kårordförande elected Lena Söderlund.
1988 was the Federal camp Bohus 88 and obviously was Fosie scout represented at the camp.
1989 Bo Lövgren elected new Chairman of the corps.
Corps founder Åke Åkesson died in 1989 and seven leaders represented the corps at the funeral.

90s

1991 consisted of 144 corps members. Two members participated this year at the World Moot in Australia.
1992 the corps of a new chairman, Berith Jörnevi and corps participating in the district camp Tjärö.
Federal camp Upcoming held in 1993 and that year came our red and yellow kårtröjor up.
1994 filled the Corps 60 years and this was celebrated with a big anniversary camp in Dörröd.
The following year, 1995, held the district camp Gyllebo Österlen.
1997, 130 corps members and the same year the Federal camp at Lake Härnösand.
In 1998, Karolina Göransson chairman of the corps. During the summer, attended patrol scouts and leaders at camp Åslejer in Denmark.
1999 Summer Corps in the Scout hut in Dörröd and that summer went some RS: ers in the camp "Future Venture" for seniors and Rover Scouts from all five unions.

In recent years, in 2000

In 2000 the Corps patrol scouts, RS: ers and two leaders of the district's summer camp in Skuggebo.
From 28 / 7 and 5 / 8 participated in this year's summer camp Corps' Scout 2001 "which, figuratively speaking, built bridges. It was the first national federal Jamboree with 26 500 participants. The camp was in Rinkaby outside Åhus. Before, during and after the camp was Fosie värdkår scout for English Boy Scouts from Plymouth, England. The twelve scouts, one RS: ers and three leaders.
In 2002 became Palle Olefeldt new chairman of the corps.
2003 involved five patrol scouts, three RS: ers, a leader and an official at the camp "Wings 2003" in England. Before starting the camp lived Fosie Scouts in Scouting families in Plymouth, which it had links with the "Scout 2001".

In autumn 2003, the Parents Association to put down. Their decision was approved at the annual meeting in spring 2004.

In December 2003, was born on the current site.

4 April 2004 filled Fosie scout 70 years and the feast was celebrated on the anniversary. During the summer camp held an anniversary of the Scout hut, with a big anniversary celebration climax, where lots of old Fosie scouts sought.
