About the Cabin

The corps pride is our number one fine scoutcabin on Romeleåsen. The cabin is situated in a beautiful meadow surrounded by deciduous forest, one kilometer southwest of the village Dörröd and about five kilometers south of Veberöd. It was in 1953 that the scoutcorp and parents' association decided to try to get over a cabin. In early 1956 there was an ad and soon after they bought the cabin.

The cabin was built some time in the first half of the 1800s and the house looked almost like today, but had thatched roofs. Inside the main cabin, there were more rooms and in the kitchen there were a huge baking oven. The current woodshed was a pigstye, dormitory and dining hall were hay loft and barn. The foundation Fosie Scoutkårs Friluftsgård was formed and its mission was, and still is, to manage the house and land, and now followed an intensive period of rebuilding and refurbishment which has remained constant til this date. The union annually activities that are held in the cabin includes kick-off, the Pentecostal camp, Title camps and corpcamps and the cabin is just as popular now as 1956th. Unless the Corps and the parents' and others been so proactive in the 50's and if there had'nt been so many volunteers who over the years spent so much time and money than Fosie would not had such a good scoutcabin.
